Tiro Kari: Shiriyu
Tiro Kari: Shiriyu by @Agondray

Hello everyone! I’ve got a new series of old drawings that I decided to share. These are of some of the characters of an old fighting game idea I had quite a few years back. I was going to name it Tiro Kari (I don’t know if this is going to be the final name if I ever work on this again). The game was supposed to take place in a form of fantasy world with various races and weird creatures. I was thinking of having it’s actual fighting mechanisms be a mix of Street Fighter’s and Mortal Kombat’s styles. I don’t know, 🤷 it’s still in the rough idea phase.

Anywho, onto the characters themselves!

First up, we have . . . Shiriyu! He was supposed to be one of two star students of a wise martial arts master in this world. He and his “sister” Tinika were taken in and trained by the old man when he discovered that they were orphans. Aside from the fighting skills they have honed over the years, they were also disciplined in following a code of honor and respect that should be valued as much as family and true friendship. Shiriyu himself is one that takes both code and skill seriously. He believes that combat should only be used if necessary, and even then to not let himself be consumed by the thrill of violence, especially anything involving bloodshed. However, he does understand that such actions are sometimes unavoidable, but still tries his best to uphold the code of honor that was taught to him by his late “father”. He fights to defend those who can’t fend for themselves, and is willing to stand up against those who would harm or oppress others.

I imagined Shiriyu as being one of the two “Shoto” type fighters. He is supposed to be fairly well-balanced in terms of stats and skills. A kind of starter character that players should pick if they are just starting off and getting used to the mechanics. He’s got a good range of moves that fill specific jobs and counter various types of attacks. He doesn’t really excell at anything, but is kinda decent at everything.

Feel free to let me know what you think!
