Tetris Attack's Vs. Com mode is the story about Kamek flooding Yoshi's Island to impress the now-adult Bowser, king of the Koopas. Since the events of the game Yoshi's Island, the yoshies have made peace with most of the other island inhabitants and has lived happily together. Kamek, however, unhappy that most of his former minions are getting along with Yoshi, brainwashes them back to his side. His only real friends are Hookbill and Naval Piranha. Lakitu may have been a bff that was wrongfully brainwashed. Not cool, dude. You don't brainwash your friends. Lakitu now hates this guy openly and without regret.

Still, Yoshi manages to get his friends back and defeat Kamek, waking up Bowser in the process from his island vacation slumber, and more fighting was had.

But as the Koopa army was defeated and their friends were saved, Yoshi was not at all at peace.

"We must not just defeat Bowser, we must crush him."

While Little Yoshi jumped up in agreement, their other friends looked at the yoshies with very concerned stares.
