One Body
One Body by @lynne (Lynne)

Since I don't have scanner access this summer, I took a picture of this with a digital camera and messed with it so that it looked somewhat okay. If I get scanner access sometime in the near future, I'll probably reupload this.

Anyway, this is something I drew a few weeks ago. It became sort of my Magnum Opus. It's all colored pencil, and I devoted hours and hours to the silly thing, which I haven't done with a piece of art since I left Maine.

There are different kinds of trees and birds in it, as well as a squirrel and a muscovy duck. On the left is Turchino, who has grown quite a bit and is now adept enough at chameleoning to do subtle things with colors instead of just changing his whole hue.

On the right is me. In the middle is Viva, offering the bread and wine. As my priest... this is symbolic of what he does for me in a lot of ways. He's my spark from heaven as I like to say.

In Christianity, the Eucharist is the ritualistic means through which we are united with Christ and with one another. This unity, which expresses itself in love and service, is the cornerstone of my life and my spirituality. Thus the theme of this drawing.
