In Time
In Time by @lynne (Lynne)

This is one of my birthday presents for Antonio Vivaldi (both the historical composer and my headvoice version, who I get all mixed up with each other anyway). He's 328 today. ^-^

This was a sketch on paper (non-inked) with a reference used for the buildings in the background. Then it was painted on the computer.. yes, I drew my own background this time!

The idea for this picture was a random bit of inspiration that seemed to pack a lot of energy (fortunately that energy carried through to the piece's completion). There is one other picture in my gallery with a morpho (the blue butterfly), and both times I have drawn a blue morpho into a picture it has felt highly meaningful to me. I'm not sure exactly what it means, but the butterfly traditionally symbolizes the soul or transformation (and it could be I got attached to morphos from the excellent book I read as a kid called 'Heartlight' by T.A. Barron).

In the light of that, I quote from Dante's Comedy:

Tu m'hai di servo tratto a libertate per tutte quelle vie, per tutt'i modi che di ciĆ² fare avei la potestate.

Happy Birthday, Rossi!
