This was done for a contest on GAIA. I'm not sure what drew me to the contest, exactly, but it was most likely the fact that her character has the same first name as one of mine -- Kia. Anyhow, I don't have much to say about this image. C + C is encouraged, as are tips about Painter 9, seeing as it's the first big project I'll be doing in there.

Wow, I haven't uploaded in a long time! Or commented, for that matter. hehe. Anyhoo, I did this for a contest on Gaia. It was a ton of fun, as I tried out a new coloring & eye style. It wasn't my orignal idea, but that's okay^^

I drew this and colored this on the computer -- without the sketch. 0_0 Scanner = not working
in other words, no scanning for me. Eep.

any comments would be greatly appriciated. Sorry I don't really have much to say.

More like, 'the white queen with the crappy scan'. Oh well. My scanner always takes my lovely (watercolor - I have no problems with any other medium...other than colored pen...) images and makes them...neon-y. Oh well. Here she is: the White Queen. *crowd cheers, Liz bows*

I have to say, I like my sky. Though you can't see it properly here, (my blues went neon-y or disapeared, my skin tones vanished, my whites intensified due to the lack of apperent wash...my grass got even uglier, a word that I don't know how to spell...) It's REALLY COOL for a sky that takes up like...3 inches of paper.

I like my tree too. My grass was originally flowers, butrI changed my mind, and made the stems grass. I hate the grass.

I WILL be doing this picture over again if I find time, 'cause I really love it.

Another thing I love - that looks ALMOST the same as the original, though a tad darker - is her hair. Because she's a blond, I was afraid I'd make her hair yellow.

I did not. *cheers* YES!

I really screwed up on the skirt, though. I made it too dark (or rather, I just laid it on to heavy) blue, meaning I had to make the rest match.(I couldn't get it all off) *sniff* The white queen has become the cerulean blue queen. Damn. Knew I should have made the shadows more grey-ish...I was to impatient.

Also...my pen bled! NEVER had this happened...oi, 'tis what I get for using a new brand. I forgot to check it to see if it was water-resistent.

Yes! It's true! I changed it! *smiles* I followed everyones suggetions and hope to finish soon...of coarse, 'soon' depends on the amount of time I have.

The background on this one was really hard for me...I couldn't think of what to put (as you can see there are a ton of erase lines -_-)! but it seems to me that the artists block is dead! it died while I was going through my manga. Demon Diary v. 2 is what killed it. I suggest you read it. Maybe Kara's art will help you too.

Yes, I know, her neck is too long. She looks like a girraffe...but that can be easily fixed when I go to do the line art.

bleh, this is just my rough draft for something^^ I'm having a little trouble with the right arm's sleve...(your right, her left)...stupid wrinkles... so any suggestions would be GREATLY appriciated!! Once I get the image the way I want it, I'm going to be doing alot with it! (or so I hope)

But anywho, the name of the charactor is Kamori (don't ask about the name, loooonnnggg story) and yes, she is one of my beautiful creations! We might be seeing some Ayaka pics in a couple days, as well^^

NOTE: in real life, the thing is sooo much more clear x.X but it's just a rough sketch, so I guess that it doesn't really matter...
