First of a pair of Naruto pics. Two rather odd team-ups.

Not a lot of work went into these. sketched them out, touched them up a bit, then reeeeaaal quickly added some colored pencil.

"Shouldn't you not be talking to me?"

An a rich man's daughter and employee metting in the family garden. ...Oooh, how daring they are.... They guy is actually an old character I drew once, really liked, but never used again. So, I decided to throw him into Lebanon, cira 700 years ago or so. No real story behind him, but I kinda like how the drawing came out.

A sketch of two trolls, having a discussion at the edge of a field. The field is supposed to be of a crop in bloom. Don't know what the plant is, but I've seen it a lot driving across Kansas. Kinda like a really low-growing corn wwith thicker tassels or something...

Been a while since I'd drawn this guy. Felt it was time to try again. Not the best, but part of that's cause I was trying to draw from a different angle than I usually do. And markers make it really hard to do variations in skintone. Had to tweak a few colors in photoshop.

A small colored pencil doodle (seriously, due to pixel resolution, its bigger on screen than it is on paper) coming from a bit of pondering... Armies of antiquity put a lot of stock in standards, and flags and whatnot. (Flags-even the armies of today) But when it comes to the standard bearer, why give that honor to a smelly, mud-stained, brootish grunt soldier? Would a scantly-clad hot chick be much more inspiring to the rank and file? 'Course they'd have to be kept away from the actual battle, but still...

Iegies and my guard character, having a conversation. About what, I don't know...

There are some details that needed work, but I'm proud of the posing in this one. And the Costume for the guard. Colors...Well, lets just say I'm still trying to get the hang of Prisma markers.

I was fiddling around at the office markers one night, trying to decide whether I should buy some Prisma makers, or another type that was used in the office. (I work in an architecture firm. We've got a few...old...artsy markers for rendering.) I had brought my sketchbook with me, and colored up this pic as a test. I used the non-prismas, whose name escapes me at the moment. They blended nice, but bled like none other. As you can well see. Suffice to say, I ended up buying a set of Prismas for myself.

It's Iegies, my troll girl, helping to unload an Elvish ship.

There are lots of minor details I would change about this pic right now (netting around the bag Iegies is holding, a bit more rigging, a better-defined keel, the fact that a ship with that flat a bottom wouldn't have sides that high (and it has to have a flat bottom, because for Iegies to be standing there, there can't be more than three feet of water left)) but O'm proud of it anyway. For me, its a great composition.

Would you believe this drawing killed my colorless blender? Well, it did. The background is digital photo taken by me.

Just a little lineup I felt like doing, of the character types that litter my sketchbook. I think it came out rather nice.

From left to right; an Chinese/anime-influenced elf maid, a Banton farmer, a Magnon soldier, a troll, and an Inmek.

There's more to the characters than all that, but only in my head. No point in boring you with all the made-up details.

An attempt at a composition. Very rough background, I know. Basically, A girl sitting on the counter of a split-level tavern. The girls seems kinda moody, but the is much merriment in the background.

That is all.

What's so special about the Lady in Red? Sure she has a cool song by Chris DeBurg, but that's just not worth all the fuss. As far as I'm concerned, its all about the Girl in Green. Aaaaaaaall about....

And on a personal note, Crash is back! Since I last updated, I've graduated, gotten a job, moved to new town and gotten a place of my own.... Oh, and my hard drive was replaced after it crashed. But I'm back, and my computer is working better than ever. Life is lookin' good.

It's that _other_ psycho in a hockey mask. Casey Jones; the Brooklyn-born vigilante ally of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Shown here taking out some anger on a couple of Purple Dragon street thugs.

An interesting note about the Purple Dragons; they are an equal opportunity employer. Indeed, they are the only equal opportunity villains I can think of. ...Oh sure, every baddie has a few elite femme fatales in thier employ, but only the Purple Dragon put girls on the street, as front-line everyday thugs. Now whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, I'm not sure yet.

The characters in this piece were finished with a new marker colorless blender that I got. I think they really came out nice this time. But I still need to figure out how to make backgrounds look good.

First off, no, I haven't really jumped onto the Naruto bandwagon. I've only seen clips of it, no full episodes. It hasn't been liscenced, and I don't have the patience to watch fansubs.

But I've seen enough of the clips to know that I am a Rock Lee fanboy just waiting to happen! That kid Rocks! Pun intended.

In Turn of the Rouge, she shoved him off a cliff. In Day of Reconing, she blew up his base with him locked in it. In Day of Recovery, he locked her in Area 51. In Blind Alley, Cyclops and Mystique finally settle it, duking it out in the dusty streets of Mexico City.

Coloration of an earlier pic. Heavilly altered via photoshop. It is supposed to be the dead of night, but I can't draw that too well, so I tried to wash out the colors, and make everything greyer. It only sort of worked. But Cyclops' ugly skin coloration is intentional. The boy just spent an entire day wandering blindly through the Mexican desert, been attacked by a pack of wolves or cyotes, and fallen off a cliff. ...And yet, he still managed to fend of Mystique. Forget Wolverine, Cyclops is THE fighter of the X-Men.
