He was a fantastic Russian composer called Pjotr Iljitch Tchaikowsky (e.g. wrote three great ballets). That pictures shows him at 1858 in the age of 18.

These are birds from the same species - in front (brown) es the female bird, in the background you see the male one. I like drawing both of them on one paper, so that I have the difference between their featherings (brown versus black and white).

That´s Roberto Alagna as the poor Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini´s opera "Tosca".
For a long time I wasn´t happy with that pic. Then I began to colour it. That made me much more unhappy. Then I did nothing. And some month later I finished it. Or better: I stopped changing details. I´m still not very happy about it, but I like the colouring and the expression on Alagna´s face.

Floria Tosca is Mario´s girlfriend, Mario is painter.
But the evil Scarpia also want to own Tosca, and then there are some political problems...and in the end the (more or less) innocent Mario will be killed.
