As usual, my mother-in-law *cough* convinced me to play with watercolours at her place this weekend, and I decided to try something more in my usual style this time. I had the pose visualized, and for some reason, the only character that came to mind for it was my old elf character that I hadn't drawn in years, Sigyn, though I forgot his most distinguishing trait - his tail.

More an experiment than anything. It's only classified as finished because I don't think I'll be going back to add a background as I originally intended.

Whew. This picture has been a long time coming. It was a labour of love, and I can only guess how many hours of work it took me. I was able to let go and just work like I haven't managed in quite some time, and not only have I produced something more like I'd like to do with my art - in terms of technical production and detail - but it's a rare instance when I feel like I've actually done something to the best of my ability.

Depicting my favourite characters from one of my all-time favourite video games, this is from the beginning of Final Fantasy VI for Super Nintendo (and all its remakes since), when Locke protects Terra in the Narshe mines.
