This week (okay, last week because I forgot to upload this here), Decker takes a look at the 2002 straight-to-video, Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, "Derailed."

Funnily enough, the facepalming at the toy helicopter (and "5-year old got a hold of the art tablet" background) turned out to be appropriate for the review. :D

I did have to rush this one more than I would have liked. I have been having a lot of back problems lately, and not able to sit at my computer to work very long lately.

I'm not sure how to classify these... :X

Decker Shado is a long-time friend of my fiance, and when he got his movie review series going, I offered my artistic services for title cards.

The first up was for a movie from 1973 called "Sssssss" ... So Here's a happy snake (...) jumping out of the DVD box. :D

"'sup, bro?"

I did the rough, rough sketch for this in my sketchbook, then the rest is, obviously, completely digital. It was nice to get to drawing something that a) wasn't a horse and b) wasn't a furry (even though, yes, the snake is a little anthropomorphized).

What I did for the DVD box, as it's the only thing that I didn't freehand and I know it looks much smoother than most of my lines, was to take a picture of the first DVD box I could get my hands on (and it was actually the case for the XBox Godfather game), then copy the edges with the pen tool. The DVD cover is the actual cover, and I found the cover on this site: http://www.triskaidekafiles.com/reviews/2010/6/28/sssssss.html

I didn't have much time to pull this together, so I do admit to cutting corners there.

Next week's review is Predator, and I should have some fun with that. Certainly not something I normally draw, but I like challenges.
