Let me let you in on a little secret: Most art teachers suck. If you don't draw EXACTLY what they want you to in EXACTLY their style, they will try to tell you that you're a bad artist and try to 'fix' your art (my brother had a teacher whose idea to 'fix' the guitar pic he'd spent ages on was to pour black paint all over it... to 'abstract' it. Without even asking permission, at that.) So I say draw whatever you want in whatever style you want and if your 'teacher' doesn't like it, tell em to bite ya!
