Still There?
Still There? by @deaddays (John Rios)

Hey, did you guys know that there are still over 150,000 troops in Iraq that are there INDEFINATELY? Yeah. They have no idea when they're coming home and the President is saying that "we'll keep them there as long as is necessary."

Now, is Bush keeping us posted on the situation? Nah. His administration would rather avoid the question and only comment on the situation when they're confronted with it. Bummer, because I know these people need to get back to their families. They did a good job and they're being rewarded with the promise that they're not coming home anytime soon.

Don't get me wrong. I understand why there would be a need for troops there, I mean, Jesus, Iraq is free for the first time in a long time and WE need to keep the peace (apparently). It just bugs me because this wasn't part of the deal that Bush sold us so easily. The soldiers went in, they did their job (sort of, I don't know WHAT EXACTLY Bush intended us to do in the first place. I mean, were we fighting terrorism? Saddam? Both? Securing oil? None of them? Securing Baghdad? What was our objective?), and they're still there, securing the area. When is it gonna end? What's our objective now? I dunno. Do you? Probly not. Bummer.

I'm feeling more and more that Bush has been jumping through hoops to manipulate us throughout this entire ordeal. Smoke and mirrors. Nothing is what it seems. I'm not giving him that much credit though, I'm sure his administration did most of the planning. So there you go.

I hope Bush isn't a bad guy. I hope he's doing stuff for the good of his country. I hope he hasn't been manipulating us from the get go and I hope the troops get home soon. A new Iraq will take A LONG TIME TO CONSTRUCT. Are we going to have to be there through it all holding their hands? Iraq isn't that helpless. They're intelligent people. We helped them with the hard stuff. Do they really still need us? Or is there a new hidden objective? I dunno. My head hurts.

Thank you. My father is still there, still in Iraq, and you have no idea how much an image like this means to me. I miss my father. And while I understand myself that troops are still needed to uphold the peace, I wish they would rotate them more, bring more people home sooner. Our troops are human too, and they have families they need to return to.

Clap Clap Clap Bravo! Encore! I agree completely. But i dont think bush is manipulating anyone. He's an idiot, he's not smart enough. He's bit of more then he can chew and now he's over his head and he has no idea what he's doing.
