And now a word from our sponsor! :D

THE LOST HEART AND SUFFERING MUSE:

When the night had fallen

And I sat in a strangely cold summer air

My cigarette flared as I inhaled

And the wind spoke to me of words that never were

On the air there approached an omen

A sign of spirits and things to come

Visions of sculpture which ramble about history

And events of the future inevitably tainted by the past

Inhaling the incense which I crave and consume,

A voice stirred inside that I could not ignore

Whispers of mistakes and triumphs, every action

According to Newton, invariably leads to reaction

It was then, upon the final breath of tobacco smoke

I heard the voices of the trees begging me to listen

Their wisdom sharing a truth which had eluded me

“Ghosts will only haunt bodies with desperate souls”

~ Poem written by Demonstelme2buycandy

ARTIST THOUGHTS - It’s been a long time coming and an even greater rush (well, fast for me =P) to get this done by the 7th, but somehow I’ve made the cut! ^^; My first collaboration with another deviant, in which I agreed to draw something revolving around a poem written by my pal Demonstelme2buycandy. When I first read the poem, I was immediately struck by how well it could be applied to my character Cal, and since I’d already been dying for an excuse to draw Cal, that was an added bonus. =P It took AGES though to realize that the best way to go about this was through a comic page, I was sitting at my desk fretting for a whole afternoon until it hit me and I was like, “Duuuuuhhh, stupid…” :slow: :slow: As you can see, I only had enough room to work with two stanzas so it wound up being the first and last. Man, I love that end line. :D : Muahaha, and the shinies are back, I told you they’d be!

Oooooh, this is beautiful! I love the composition/layout, the way the panels interplay with one another and flow continuously into one another. I also love the glow you've given every panel. The silhouette of Cal in the last panel is excellent! Neat!

Wow, thankyou heaps for all of your observations! ^__^ I must admit, I was a bit worried if the panels were flowing since I'd been staring at the pic for so long, thus I could no longer pick up on errors and whatnot... ^^;;; I'm glad you felt they do, and hooray for shinies for I love them so! :D Pets the dodge tool Muchly appreciated hon, and may your upcoming week be fun and plentiful! B^) Hands you magic cheese!

OOH! takes magic cheese Thank you much! I'm lactose intolerant...does MAGIC cheese have lactose??? haha

No problem with the dispensing of the observations, btw. You have a very detailed piece here, and I could probably go on more about it!!! And I agree with that whole staring too long at the piece thing...I've been there myself..After awhile when I've been looking too long/hard on something I've done I can't even remember which way I'm supposed to be looking at it! Which side is up? Auuuuugggghhh! haha

Shiny things! YAY!

Ah, that's the beauty of magic cheese, it'll be whatever you want it to be! :D See? Points to her magic cheese which is currently serving as an interesting wall hanging XD I'll take it down when the mice get whiff of it, I don't want mice running around fuelled by magic cheesiness... O___o;; Oh God NO!! XD

What's all these comments about magic cheese......? Dont' even see any in the comic... :p but it's a great piece! I saw your other work too and it's all amazing! So is this gonna be an ongoing story? ;p

LOL, I've become a magic cheese pimp that's what! XD Noooo there's none in the pic, things are already strange enough without magic cheese adding to it! :D Anyhoo yes, thankyou verily for the compliment, and maybe with a bit of luck I'll be able to make a full blown comic one day! ^^ First I'll have to fight off pending uni work and my procrastination bug, who I named Bob. =P Bob nods from where he permanently sits on her shoulder For the moment though I'll have to make do with turning out one-shot comic pages, that should warm me up at least! Hums a random song and blesses you with the wonders of magic cheese and dairy power XD

Dude, I've been away for a long time. You've certainly been living up to your name of surreal artist. This piece is up to your usual badass level of amazing artwork, good to Cal being his usual vague-yet-funky-self. You rock girl, you so totally rock!

Gawd no, I'm the one who's been gone for yonks! XD XD Breathes in cobwebs X___X I really hate it when I go back to uni, I just lose every single concept of time I have and before I know it, one month has gone... then two months... at which point I go WTH? ^^;; Eh, we're just a couple of late birds. =P Good to see you again Nik, and thankyou for sharing your thoughts on this comic page! ^__^ It gladdens me muchly that you liked how it turned out in the end, and I'll be drawing a lot more of Cal since I'm exploiting him for one of my uni projects, muahaha. XD Eh, and now I've got to go to dinner, so I'll catch you later hon and say hello to Ferox for me! Hands you cheese on toast B^)
