Virginia Renaissance Faire
Guild of St. George
Good Day, my Lords and Ladies!
Included here are some reference materials that might assist you in your portrayal of English citizenry of the 16th century.
The reference materials produced at the Virginia Renaissance Faire is limited to the VRF Yeomen of the Guard Manual of Arms at this time and we hope to add more as time goes on. In the mean time, we highly recommend the sites listed on our links page.
In addition, through the magic of Da Vinci's Magic Eye, we present some pictures of the people and happenings from the good village of Staffordshire. The images were provided by and used with permission of Sharon Marr, Doris Dubois, Lynn Peverill, Clancy Higday and J.D. Johnson. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed being the subjects!
The arms devices (shields) on those pages that use them are used with permission by Paula Kate Marmor. Additional support was given to the author by John Neitz. Although this reference should (and has) been placed on the links page, I highly recommend their web page for a wealth of information about Renaissance England at the time of Elizabeth I.
