Ryven was born into a family of paupers. His childhood was anything but good, living only to survive to the next day. He lived in a small shack with his mother and 2 siblings, everything was decent compared to the conditions of other families.

Ryven's childhood was something he never wanted to remember. He entered the Academy at the age of 7 and as one of the first students. He was trained more rigourosly than anyone else who was enrolled. Ryven was initiated into the 2nd highest place, but was never a Korikan demon. He had achieved what many would not expect from a person of his history: a man of great power. He was 14 when he became the head instructor at the Academy.

Despite his young age, he was the best fighter in the land, feared by many. To be trained by him was a great honor. Many female students were very attracted to him (he was considered the school hottie), but he never showed much interest to any; except one.

She appeared scrawny at first, but had 'outgrown' her other trainers. Hearing that she had been at the Academy only a few years (and beaten all the teachers), he assumed that she had great potential. In order to have her prove herself, he scheduled a little spar with her.

At the beginning of the duel, it seemed as if there was no winning side. Each seemed to display equal skill and physique. Finally, the girl made the first major lunge. Ryven dodged the initial hit, which was meant to pierce his heart, but wasn't quick enough and she managed to dig a deep valley in his chest. Slightly angered, but more impressed, he retaliated mercilessly and beat her. She was taken to a private room, battered, bruised, and shamed. He followed. Ryven finally learned her name: Binkari. As the years went along, he found himself falling in love. Knowing what this could do, he began to get harsher with his training techniques, trying to force himself to hate her. Binkari, in truth, had grown to trust him. She seemed very introverted at first, but soon was revealing her own thoughts to him. She was trying to befriend him. Ryven tried his best to be friendly back, but his feelings for her were greater. When Binkari rejected the Academy at age 13, he felt disgraced, but inside, was proud. Upon hearing about her execution, he was told to retrieve her and bring her to the room where she would expire. He caught Binkari, and she told him that if that's the way it was going to end. With that, he forced himself to drag her over there, but in the end, he failed and when she escaped, he was heartbroken. Not knowing what to do, he stayed at the Academy, but his emotions began to get the best of him, and he fell in power.

Now, with the fall of the Korikan Empire, he has little to turn to. He has run into Binkari, who is searching for soldiers to build her resistance faction. Not wanting to risk losing her again, Ryven decided not to follow, despite the rantings of his heart. He now wanders, taking up mercenary jobs as they spring up. So far, Ryven has never rose in power. So far...
