Pawns - sketch
Pawns - sketch by @Lady_Amberjo (Lady Amberjo)

...oi, is this ever an awful scan >_< It looks better than this in real life...hopefully I'll have decent lighting when I photograph the finished thing...and it smushed everything vertically, but I think I managed to even most of that out in Paint...

Anyway, this is the linework for the long-neglected Doom picture. The very blurry, misshapen linework. And no, Varon's goggles aren't finished. I'm going to add more detail to them later...I had to stop because the paper was wearing thin. There's actually a very fuzzy bit around Amelda's eye...garrrrrgh that eye gave me too much trouble.

There's an effect I want to try with the panels, and I'm hoping it'll turn out alright. I'm thinking of going with the pale off-white purplish cloak for Dartz, but that might change. Already have the background planned out.

Murr. Sleep-time now.

Yaay! ...Even though you showed me the scan before, yay!

I still think it looks lovely, even taking scanner-problems into account. Dartz's hair and folds look all nice, as does his expression... and the Musketeers look wonderful too. ^^ I like Baron's hair a lot for some reason... and Raphael's sideburns....

Squee~ I can't wait to see it colored and everything. ^^

snug

Varon ended up looking really young to me, for some reason...I sort of like it, though. And I'm glad his hair ended up looking less like a starfish than it does in the series.

It's sad, but it took longer to draw Amelda than it took to draw the other two and part of Dartz. And I'm still not thrilled with his eyes...I do like his tanktop, though. And half of his hair.

I'm still going to run away with Darz's cloak at some point...and all its magical folds...

puurrs. This is so awesome. Valon is my favorite part, I think. I'm just so impressed with the hair! XD; And as I mentioned, I love Dartz's too.

And something I noticed just now: Wow! Raphael's sideburns look more natural too! XD Yay for natural-looking hair.

I love the way Alister's tanktop hangs so loosely on him. His expression is classic Alister.

You really did a great job trying to make everyone look realistic while staying recognizable. ^^ I can hardly wait to see the finished version of this!

snerk ...isn't it amazing what happens by accident when you're not trying? I'll probably never get it to work again...and I need to draw Varon again for another picture ._. Raphael's I might be able to manage again...I'm not sure if human facial hair can actually grow like that, but they did come out looking fluffy ^^;

I tried the sports-bra look on Amelda, and failed miserably...and I've become such a fold-whore anymore, anyway XD;

Thanks for the comment! ^_^

I'm sorry for taking so long to comment!

Anyway I am loving how you've given their hair a realistic feel. The eyes also look gorgeous. Much better than how they look in the series. Am I weird in saying that the noses are just so cute? ^^;; Seriously, I think they are adorable. Also it's great to see your volume and folding with the clothes. I can learn from such a master. nods

I can't wait to see the finished product! ^_^ How shameless of you to dangle such a morsel in front of me!

No big deal, considering how long it took me to reply ^_^;

I can't draw hair as a solid wad-like mass. I refuse to. It appalls me. I actually tried to draw Dartz's hair more canon-style at first, but got all cringey and had to texture it...though it seems like Varon's hair is my claim to fame, given the other comments. But I'm glad you like the hair, and the noses...I'm trying to get away from the Nike-swoosh nose-style, without getting too realistic, so hopefully this works...

snerk ...master? Though if I manage to teach anyone anything, that'd be severely cool.
