I sketched this in the middle of all those catgirls I did a couple months ago. In an uncharacteristic burst of inspiration, I spent several hours today turning it into what you see here. This was my first attempt at anything like this.

Beautifully rendered fur; it looks very soft and silky. The colouring is very well done. The body looks a bit flat though, especially compared to the face which is done beautifully. The markings are lovely and look very realistic, particularly on the face (on the leg it looks unusually straight)

Beautiful. I really love the textures you have here. So adorable! What I love most about this picture are the eyes and ears for some reason. This kitten looks so peaceful ... Wonderful work ^_^

Another thing, (if i'm wrong then ignore me ;p) I'm guessing that Alfie is the cat? I really hope you find him ... it's not fun loosing a pet :(

It seems to be the fault of the background that the cat appears flat. If I cover the boundary between the two it appears to be more three-dimensional. The cat looks more like it has been stuck on the background rather than a part of it, so working on that may help considerably. Perhaps making the highlights slightly less bright and the shadows a bit lighter around the edges may also help. It will give the illusion of going back in space and is a general rule for shading and highlighting anything.

I think you should keep doing this style! The kitten is so cute, and the fur looks so real. I admire your cat drawing skills!

How absolutely precious! ;_; What a sweet little face! He looks so sweet and peaceful laying there... Those closed sleepy eyes and cute little whiskers are my favorite touches to this pic! The texture on the fur looks very realistic, and the fur pattern came out well, too... The ears are a great touch, too, with the hair sticking out from them. And the pose is just right--I see my kitties sleeping like that frequently, with their tails curling around in front of their faces...

I do agree that the image is kind of flat and that the kitty seems like part of the background, but this pic is too adorable to not adore anyways.

I really hope you're able to find your kitty... :(

Aww this is so cute! The white part on it's face though goes up a bit too much...Nice pic though, it looks so furry ^^

I'm sure the white part looks strange from the outside, but that's what his markings looked like. Thanks for the comment.

Sooo cute! I love the colourig of the fur and the position of the tail. It looks like his kind of floating because of a lack of shadow but thats ok I think.

Thanks for the comment. I understand what you mean about the shadow. I still need work on my backgrounds. Thanks again.
