Slowly returning
12 Apr 2024, 07:51 PM

Since Side 7 is the the quietest site I've been, I think I'll be slowly posting some random art. Though, I will never be able to be very active, not like most users here at least due to my full job, but hope to show up from time to time and share some stuff and check yours as well.

I'll go slow with my comic as well as have many frames as this is an alternate version to the main story I've been publishing.

Good to slowly be back :)

WELCOME BACK! You go at your own pace, but I'm rather wryly reminded of a colleague in the collaborative comic who would go on "hiatus" for so brief that there was no discernible absence in the schedule. :P

But yeah, as I've said before I know that feel on being shorted for time. I've been slowly indexing my character roster, and the last batch (7) took about a week. :x

@Thorvald: Hahaha, yeah, I tend to take short hiatus, though, to be honest this is the only site I've returned because I can post here without the pressure I felt in other socials of being constantly active, I'm still on hiatus in all my other social media and I don't feel like returning anytime soon. I also deleted other social media and comic accounts such as Inkblot, Facebook, Discord, Webtoons, Tapas, Bluesky, ComicFury and Globalcomix. (Yep, I tried a loooot of places, couldn't like any of them) Side 7 is the best option to post art quietly without constantly trying to keep up.

@Thorvald: mmm, how strange, when I check my journal I see no comments, but in my notifications I see your comment clearly.seems to be bug 🤔

@Trezce: Aye, I've described InkBlot as "Twitter for art": I'm much more an archivist than a fame-chaser, but it's very much a "publish or perish" platform. Ironically I know a high-profile cartoonist who gave up on it due to lack of engagement (and/or the bug-ridden UI).

Somewhat ironic you like S7 because it's laid back: a friend of mine who's ranted about commercialization and clout chasers several times returned to DeviantArt. XD (Though it was less the site itself than personality conflicts with a couple of users—the problem with small towns is everyone knows everyone else. :p )

@Thorvald: Haha, yeah, I REALLY tried engaging with Inkblot but after almost crashing my phone I simply gave up. Also whenever I returned, the site seemed to have more glitches, so I doubt it will succeed, which is a pity, because the admins are doing what they can, but my experience was by far the most frustrating from all the sites I've tried. Also reporting stuff was also a frustrating thing to do, I got responses for my reports weeks after I deleted my account. As for DA, with all the AI content, fetish art content, porn and weird users, I simply don't want to go back there ever. Besides, my art wasn't suitable for the site as the place was more into fan art and myself I mostly do my own content about my own stories. People simply didn't like my stuff, but that's just part of the reality of posting content online.

Hahah, yeah, I rather be in a more laid back site, I think due to me being old. I no longer have the energy to keep up and be very active like I used to when I was 15 years ago, also my job doesn't allow me to have the time or energy to make art as often as I used to back when I was a teen or young adult. I don't want fame or anything, just a small place to share my stuff. I'm not a conflictive person, but in big sites I came across people who hated me for the mere reason of existing and moderate that on big sites was impossible, just like IG or DA, so bigotry was impossible to control in there DX

This may be due to duplicate journals: compare /Trezce/journal/1322 and /Trezce/journal/1323. The journal submission page doesn't refresh once it's been posted, and I've seen as many as three copies of the same journal posted by accident. Auto-nav to the management screen as with gallery and character submissions might help throttle this; I'll add it to my Summary Feature Request list. B^)

As a stickler for chronology, I go for the earliest copy unless people have already replied. :B

@Thorvald: wow, I see now, didn't knew it could happen. Hahah, thankfully the notification system works very well and it allows me to get to the comments without problem! Gonna delete the duplicated one just to avoid confusion 😅
