A self portrait done a few months ago for my Intermediate Drawing: Portraiture class. I don't like the way much of the texture came out, but mostly I'm happy with it.
14x17 in, charcoal and conte on paper.

It took a long time of playing with lamps, natural light from the window, and light from the hallway outside the room to get it just right (I must have moved that floor lamp, opened and closed the door, and repositioned where I was sitting half a dozen times each, at least!), so I'm glad you like it ^-^
Ooo, nice. I especially like the lighting - my every experiment with shading tends to fail horribly, so I like seeing how other people do it. Lovely stuff.
