Captain Barbossa
Captain Barbossa by @Hippy_of_Doom (Sabrina A Thomas)

As a Pirates of the Caribbean obsessee... I felt obliged to draw someone. I wanted to draw Jack Sparrow, but as he's perfection personified I had to work my way up to his standard... so I decided to draw Barbossa as he's not drawn often compared to Mr. Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush is just superb as him. I'm pleased with how this came out, though I think the nose is awful after looking thoroughly at the photo reference and the eyes look dodgy even though they're quite accurate.

This caught my eye as soon as I started browsing through the pictures. I must say, you caught the Captain's likeness to a T. The facial expression is very mysterious, and the hand is wonderful. His nose came out very well. I seem to have troubles with noses =/ You did very well on this. I suppose my only suggestion would be to add more darkness to the shadows to break up the mass amount of light in the picture. Great job on this!

Thanks :D It definitely does need to be darker on the nose, but when I tried it, it looked odd cos there wasn't a dark background. Might try and darken the background and nose in future.

this picture is amazing, the detail is brilliant, I love the eyes and his hand.

In fact the only thing i find with it is the hair is a lil chunky, i noticed that with the elizabeth picture too, i mean i dont want to put u down, because i really do thing your work is amazing, its just the hair needs finer lines or something

anyways keep up the greta work, i havent seen all your gallery yet, but if theres not a jack or will yet id LOVE to see them

Thank you :D My hair drawing skills are weak, with hair that isnt blonde or fair and in good light. I've started to draw each hair individually, whcih can be seen in my latest drawing of Catherine Zeta Jones. I plan to do drawings of Will and Jack in the summer when I have spare time. Might do Liz again first though.

Oh thats funny this pic caught my eye because I've just drawn Barbossa in exactly the same position, but not nearly as good as this mind. But I agree that Geoffrey Rush's nose is a killer to draw and I think you did a great job of it. And I think the eyes look really good as well. Kudos to you;D
