Alpaca Cria
Alpaca Cria by @dragelph (Joce Weir)

ALPACAS! Another one of the cutest animals in the world! Someday I want a big huge farm so that along with all the other animals I love I can keep a paddock of these sweet little things!

anyways onto the pic...

This is a pencil drawing of an alpaca cria (cria is what ya call baby alpacas and llamas... like how a calf is a cow and a foal is a horse) I found it kind of difficult because the fibre is meant to be clipped and its tought to get that freshly clipped look to such thick fibre! forgive the cruddy scan, the pic is from a hard cover sketchbook so its really tough to get a an even scan and editting will tear up the image :p

I will eventually cut the page out so that the pic can be framed and matted and I am considering getting prints made for sale but I'm not sure yet.

COMMENT! ME LOVE COMMENTS! (if you don't I will be sad and hide in my basement crawlspace feeding crackers to the wolf spiders that I call my fuzzy biting babies)

Alpacas rule the world! Wonderful pic. Foreshortinging, anatomy, and the head is just perfect! Only thing I'd suggest is slow down a bit and work on those textures more. You've got a lovly start, but I think they could be worked up a bit more. :) Like this... http://www.pacatrader.addr.com/angelic/images/artwork/Chris_Millar.jpg You got the skill, just take the time. :)

thankies! yeah I wanted to work more on the texturing but it was far to small to do much more without ending up with a big muddled mess of pencil LOL! I have to start training myself to work on a larger scale :D
