Just a likkle flower faerie that was an art request by a classmate...though it wasn't coloured...

Not the best stuff ever, but is just my SECOND computer coloured picture ever.

anything to help me improve is appreciated and info on how to use pen in Photoshop 5 is welcome! (what DOES it do???)

I have no idea what Pen in Photoshop does.. I use Paintshop Pro =P

Thankies! o.O psp? It's a lot harder to do shadows and what-not in psp, you should give Photoshop a go. (after reading a few tutorials, or else you can't really use it's full potential, which i still didn't do...^^;;)

Nice character design--I really like her hair, in particular.

Do a search for Al Mackey's photoshop tutorials. If I remember right, he talks a lot about using the pen tool.

I like the way you've drawn the hair and rendered the highlights on it. The wings are good too - the shading makes them look smooth and iridescent. I think the flower could do with a little more shading, though, just to make it look a bit more 3D. It's very good for only a second attempt, though.

Arigato! ^^ I'm surprised you thought the wings were good though, i actually thought they were quite bad as i hadn't added all the circly thingies that are on butterfly wings. >< i was going too! T_T The wings and flower were done with gradient on Photoshop 5. i WAS actually doing the shading by hand, but then it looked blotchy and not at all like shading. I've fixed that problem now.^_^

I think it's cute I like the use of the transparent white it's pretty spiffy I wish I knew how to use any comp program but oh well at least I understand oekaki programs on the internet
