Wouldn't she have to, to put up with him as long as she has? Yes, Ariel's dark secret is revealed. She isn't quite the incarnation of evil that people have taken her for after all, she at least has some small capacity for love, which is used up with Scrue and Nuka so don't expect her to be affectionate with you.
