For St. Valentine's Day
For St. Valentine's Day by @lynne (Lynne)

This is not much of a holiday to celebrate for me. But when it comes to love, that is what I try to order my life by anyway, as symbolic of the greater Love story of the Universe that includes all of humanity. All desire, all gravitation, literally what makes the world go round. God loves us more than we can possibly imagine, and since he is an incarnate God, that love is symbolized and expressed by the love shown to our neighbor. This is what I was trying to represent, in this image. All sorts of love between people is caught up in the love that God has for us.

This was done with Prisma markers and colored pencil, and then touched up with Photoshop.

Very nice message and different Valentines Day twist. Typically i'm Anti-Valentines day, but I like this picture's focus and idea.

On an artistic note.. the lighting is very nice. I often have problems with that when I create my own pictures. For some reason the little cross is my favorite part of the picture though. I'm not quite sure why though..

Nice picture.

Oh, wow. The lighting in this is very clever and matches the message of the piece. The colors all reenforce the message. It's really quite warming, welcoming and comforting.

My only critique is that the perspective on some of your background elements (particularly the book shelf) are off. I'm really horrid with perspective, so unfortunately I can't give you tips other than using a ruler and a book on perspective the next time. :3

But, honestly? The first time I looked at this, I didn't notice the perspective issues at all, I simply admired the lighting and the "valentine's tree" you have there.

Wonderful work. :)
