Good composition. The open space really gives the pic some impact. It gives it a concentration and focus kind of feel to the piece. The pastel colors of the background also lend to this, visually making it look as if it were a dream or something along those lines - a connection with something outside one's own self. Balance, ya' know?

I really dig the character design. Nice, simple, clean. The shading works with it, a nice compliment to the lineart.
