Junicorn 2022 #24 - User Choice 3
Junicorn 2022 #24 - User Choice 3 by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)

"Among the vast numbers of mammalian, mineral, celestial, and plant unicorns, nothing compares to the sight of an ether unicorn. This is mostly because seeing this unicorn is incredibly and unnaturally frightening. No one understands it, and no one has really been able to classify this unicorn. It is thought that ether unicorns have a similar existence as carbon unicorns, that their forms are only slightly tangible within the physical world. However, people who see these unicorns are inclined to flee in terror since these unicorns will release a shrill cry when approached. Observers (when they have finished soiling themselves) have noticed that this unicorn's horn never appears to be a straight, solid object, but always wispy and smoke-like. Ether unicorns only ever appear at night and have startled people in many different locations. Many have speculated that this may not be a unicorn in a conventional sense, but perhaps a wandering spirit of some type. Through many of these features, they have gained additional monikers, such as 'ghost unicorn' or 'wailing unicorn'."

A quick image I threw together for the user choice. Mostly experimenting with transparency and hand-drawn glow effects.
