Demon Markings/Birthmarks: She has Seishioni markings on her cheeks/forehead and Chioni markings under her eyes, which normally only appear when she’s emotionally charged or casting powerful magic spells. However when she’s in the demon realm they’re always present. She also has a birthmark on her back just above her tail.

Tattoos/Scars: She has the mark of the Oniryu clan tattooed in the middle of her shoulders, where the neck joins with the torso. She also has a nasty scar on her back that runs between her shoulder blades, from her right shoulder to her left hip; this was a gift from Kimnomi when she defied him while protecting some children from him.

Personality: Tanaquil’s rather shy most of the time, but once she gets to know a person she opens up tremendously and becomes a big ball of energy. She has problems trusting people, as in she’s way to trusting most of the time, and usually ends up hurt because of it later on. She’s friendly and loving with those she’s familiar with and will do anything in her power to protect them.

Background:

Tanaquil is only a half demon, she was born in the capital city of Chadir, called Tier’rei. She is the last known surviving member of the Finlay royal family. Her siblings and parents were believed killed when the kingdom was over run by a terrible army, lead by the descendants of Kelestra De’Stina, a half Alearnaian wolf half Veskarian sabre cat.

Tanaquil was lead by her mother into a safe part of the palace when the attack began, then teleported into another dimension just as an explosion rocked the entire city, wiping out the majority of the inhabitants. When Tana woke up she was trapped under a mountain of rubble, the ceiling having collapsed on top of her when the palace touched down in this new realm.

Confused and suffering from a head injury Tana struggled to dig her way out, she froze when she heard voices. Kagato, the lord of the Tenshioni clan had come to investigate the strange structure and had begun digging through the rubble, but before he could capture her he was chased off by Yoru, lord of the Oniryu clan.

After calming Tana down Yoru took her to their island and introduced her to the other members of the Oniryu clan. Tana was then reunited with some old friends (Roxxy, Seth, and Shinta) she had met when she was still very young, sadly because of her head injury she couldn’t remember anything beyond being buried alive.

A few weeks passed and Korosu decided to adopt Tanaquil into his family, since she was still very young and had no one else to turn to. This gave the lost and lonely girl a sense of security and a place to belong, which is helping her recover from the loss of her family and her memory.

Tanaquil’s still young, has many things yet to learn, but with the love and support of her new family she knows she can do anything if she works hard enough at it. Back on Alearna Tanaquil was trained in magic at the most prestigious schools, the Academy of Wizardry and Witchcraft, and later the Academy of Shadow Arts. She was known as one of the greatest sorceresses in Alearna by the time she was 17, though Saffron, her eldest sister, was still better.

Since she got amnesia she had to relearn most of the skills she developed back home, but she’s a fast learner and picks up on things very quickly. Her long term goal is to regain her lost memories, return to her home land and restore her kingdom, and her family.

She still doesn’t know of the destiny the gods have planed out for her, or of her role in the events that lead to the freedom of the Okoku no oni from the poisons that have been plaguing them for thousands of years... it’s only a mater of time before she learns the truth.
