From delusion lead me to truth. From darkness lead me to light. From death lead me to immortality.

DELVCEOBSCVRITATEQVEETOMNIBVSQVAEVLTRALATENT POTESTISNEVIDERE

Raydl, Black Angel, the most powerful of Jayli's three forms. A largely experimental image based on a sketch I did in class. I've always wanted to incorporate more magic into Jayli and especially Raydl's character, seen as how she is particularly talented with it, and having before described her gryphon form as being born of magic, wings rendered by fire as burning blades, that sort of thing... well... I thought this was an interesting interpretation of it.

The other experimental aspect of this image is the style. I don't normally do lineart, but it seemed to translate well as lineart from the sketch and thought it'd be good practice. I'm pretty terrible at cellshading, so I went with a kind of hybrid style. I'm mostly happy with it, I suppose.

Character: Raydl (Jayli) Lyrics: "Navras" (Juno Reactor) Tools: Adobe PhotoShop 7.0., Intuos 2 Wacom tablet Time: 10-20 hours? Far too long.

Those eyes are stunning. As well as the background and...well, all of it xD How did you make the raindrops if I may ask?

Thank you very much! As for the raindrops, well, those were a pain. I started off by making a bunch of dots, then using one of the blurring filters in Photoshop (wind or motion or something, I can't remember offhand). These were unsatisfactory, so I went and handpainted in the lower globule-like portion of each droplet to improve their shape and to bring out the sparkle in them.

Wow, everything about this is so beautiful, crisp and clear! Great job!

Thank you very much! Not my usual style, but you seem to approve - I appreciate it :3
