The Holy Republic of Orléans was Crezth's country in Sursum Corda. A Catholic theocracy built around the hagiography of Jeanne d'Arc, early roleplay established the government as ruthlessly totalitarian in quashing internal dissent, in sharp contrast to its public façade of love and charity. When Ailedhoo's Agontrov fantasy kingdom formed a defensive pact with Spain and Italy, French rhetoric turned openly hostile, seizing on the prosecution of a racist pogrom in Agontrov-controlled Calais to proclaim the so-called "Conclave of the Holy Christ" with fellow dogmatists Germany and Imperial Russia. Russia subsequently declared war on the orcs, dragging the alliances into open conflict (and a vicious chat feud).
