@OrdinarilyScary: Oh, man, I feel that. I've wanted to make rpgs for years but I can never figure out rpg maker x.x

If you're open to the idea of making a visual novel type game, I'd suggest checking out TyranoBuilder. It's all drag-and-drop and little to no coding is needed (but I will warn you it's a little pricey and sometimes buggy. Still really fun to play around in, though)
