Monoceros
Monoceros by @cyntbeeh (Cynthia Beehr)

Yet one more picture for my Dream RPG "creatures" page. This happens to be one I did not make up. But I thought I should draw it since I figured there would be plenty of people who don't know what a monoceros looks like. It's described as having the body of a horse, the head of a stag, and the feet of an elephant--with a long, black horn (about 3 feet long, as it says in one resource). I've also read in another resource that this is the way that unicorns used to be described at first, as a terrible beast with elephant feet. So it seems to me that possibly when the image of the unicorn changed, the original creature was dubbed as a monoceros. The words "unicorn" and "monoceros" both mean exactly the same thing--"one horn" (tho I'm sure most of you already knew that). Well, anyway, this creature is supposed to be real mean and nasty. I think I did a decent job in portraying that, but I think it should look a little meaner. The feet are probably the most awkward part of the picture...
