unnamed jackalope character
unnamed jackalope character by @cyntbeeh (Cynthia Beehr)

Okay since I've just started drawing non-Sonic-style anthros once in a while, I decided to make a character in that style. And I thought it would be cool to make a jackalope character. Now I dunno why jackalopes tend to be drawn with deer antlers. They're supposed to be a combination of a jackrabbit and an antelope, which is why it's a JACKALOPE, and not a jackdeer or something. I was going to give her pronghorns (as in a pronghorn antelope) figuring it'd make sense seeing as jackrabbits and pronghorns live in the same area. But I thought it looked stupid, so I used a different kind. And I also thought it would be cool to give her hooves on her back feet as well, something that wouldn't really work on a "real" jackalope (if they were real). Now this is really just a concept drawing. I might change some things. And I have to decide on colors. And a name. I'm thinking I shoulda drawn the horns a bit smaller, at least a little skinnier. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention I used SmartBlur on this. Artwork © Copyright 2002 Cynthia Beehr
