Adjustable thumbnails

While I'm new here, I thought I'd offer a suggestion when it comes to art thumbnails, especially in the Characters section of a user profile.

Some artists, myself included, often draw 'full body' poses of a character, using an image canvas with dimensions tailor made to fit the character's height. Unfortunately, this often results in the thumbnail system focusing on a character's midsection/abdomen, which might come across as 'creepy' to some users.
Some other platforms that rely on similar thumbnail systems allow users to adjust the thumbnails, usually by sliding the image around to the desired position - as an example for my situation, this would be to focus on a character's face/headshot. While I'm sure that the "Characters' section was intended for mostly headshot art, there are some who draw characters full-body for the purpose of introducing them, including for a page with their details.

I wonder if anybody else has had similar thoughts as to this issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! That is definitely a feature that I would like to get working for Side 7. There are a few technical hurdles to get over before I can do it, though.

I appreciate the suggestion! It helps!

rn there is a workaround for that: upload the square thumbnail as a submission and embed the full image (hosted somewhere else) on the description

I was going to ask about that: Given we have customizable thumbnails for audio and literature, the next logical step is adding them to images. Slightly different from what OP's asking but it seems like a good time to mention. :3
