Biography

Important<< Okay people! I finally landed myself the internet, but to my dismay, I've reached the upload limit on here. I don't know when that happened.. but ... I can't upload here anymore. I'm sure going to miss this place. You guys can see my art over at Deviant Art, if you like. It's at http://soulshelter.deviantart.com

I hope to see you there!

And so long, Side7. You were awesome.. but one must move on. 'Specially since I can't really upload anymore.. lol.. Thank you guys.

Here's some info on the person behind these drawings. ..and.. be warned.. this is kind of long.. if you make it to the end.. you deserve a cookie! Seriously!

My name's Jennifer.. or Jenny. My friends and family call me both. I have a MySpace, so look for SoulShelter if you happen by! I was going to college to get an associate's degree in Graphic Design/Print/Multimedia for a little bit, but money was getting dangerously low.. so I'm having to work my butt off now at a convenience store to save money up to go back and finish. G'heh..

Anyway.. I'm always open to pic exchanges. I've always found it facinating to see my characters drawn in other peoples' styles.

About pic exchanges. Yes, I love to do them, but I sometimes get caught up with other things outside of the computer world, so you'll have to be patient. Most of the time I'll get my half of the exchange on time.

I'm seriously into anime and the like, and sometimes my drawings show an anime-like quality, but only just a tad. I've never gotten into the full-blown anime style of drawing, but every once in a while it'll leak out into a sketch or two. ALOT of people draw in the anime style.. Now, don't get me wrong. Tons of people are freaking awesome at that style.. but, in my opinion, it's really overdone. Even though some of my stuff has a slight anime flavor to it.. I -try- to stick to as original of a style as I can.

I've been drawing ever since I was able to pick up a pen and know what to do with it. I didn't start using colour in my pictures until 7th grade and didn't start drawing humans until late 10th grade. As I look over my drawings from years ago until now, I, myself, notice that my style and ability changes drasticly. Most of the time for the better.

My drawings for a while were really dark, as ya'll can see. I've since become closer to my Christian religion, and my darkness and violence in drawings has lightened up alot. Look forward to brighter stuff. I still have my guts, so don't expect ALL pretty drawings. God has done wonderful things for me, and forgiven me for more stuff than I'm worthy of. I thank him every day for the wonderful talent he's blessed me with. Without him I wouldn't have one lick of talent.

Also.. about my little world I've created for my characters. All 26+ of them represent different sides of my personality. For example... Cirrus Hedgeoshi is my hungry/hyper/happy-go-lucky-everything's-gonna-be-alright side of me.. .while her exact opposite is Mallory Williams... the quiet/shy/gives-you-shivers-up-your-spine-when-she-walks-by-you side of me. =) The world they all live in is totally different from our world we live in now. I figure that if I have to live in reality... my characters don't have to. It's a good place for me to escape to sometimes. The only similarity between the two is God. My God in this reality is the same in their world. The world they live in has no regular 'domesticated animals' such as cows to be slaughtered for meat or doggies and kitties for house pets. All animals we know here in reality are just like us humans in my little world I've made for them. When they eat burgers.. they aren't made from cows since you might be sitting across from one in the resturaunt. They're made from these creatures that evolved..er.. or devolved lower than the humans and animals. Some have some language... and can talk. Alot of the house pets can.. like Mallory's cat-like 'Kitta' named Batrosh. Basically, what animals are to us here in real life, these creatures are to them in their world.

The reason why I did this is because it drives me crazy how in other cartoons animals can have other animals for pets. Like.. Mickey Mouse... has a DOG for a pet! Dogs EAT mice! But.. his neighbor Goofy is a DOG as well. What the crap!? It drives me mad. Or.. like in Pokemon. All they say is their names. Their names is derived from human words like 'Squirt' and 'Blast'. If they're anchient.. how did they--...

Actually?...I think I over analyze things. I know it's just a toon.. but still. I know ya'll are probably really confused now.. but.. Yeah. That's a little insight on my world I've created... and my little rant on how stupid people have made cartoons and the concept. I know.. I've got too much time on my hands... and my brain too, obviously.

I wonder if anyone gets this far in reading my profile? They're here to see drawings! Not.. read.. erh..

Anyway, that's it. Got any other questions? (...which is unlikely.. but some of you might) Email me!

~Jenny~
