Colonel General in the Russian army (equivalent to Lieutenant General in the West) and former Spetsnaz commander who maintains ties with the special forces and moonlights for the Security Service. Nicknamed "Brusilov's inquisitor", he possesses a sardonic wit and does not suffer fools gladly, regularly chewing out incompetent officers both privately and publicly. Gedeonin was created as an unofficial spymaster, bridging the conventional armed forces with espionage and covert operations plotlines. In At Plot's End, he runs a clandestine investigation into POPA–SIPPA, using Captain Locke as a field agent to maintain plausible deniability.

Gedeonin also features in the Alternate 2011 spin-off serial, conducting the (as-yet unpublished) interrogations of Coruscanti prisoners.

Trivia:
  • Gedeonin is first identified in the second round of Toyoda Papers (August 2009), berating one Captain Smelyn Koloszlow, whom he calls "Smelly". The letter was first made public in @GenMarshall's comic in March 2010; Gedeonin himself débuted soon after, unnamed, alongside General Czciborycz at the start of the Space Nazi invasion of Korea.
