Graceful Bellydancer
Graceful Bellydancer by @smarle (Staci/Nadia)

This is my submission for the final qualifying round of OmniArt... The theme for this round was dancing, and I originally had this idea for a huge picture of most of the Tales of Symphonia playable characters at the party in Meltokyo, with Lloyd and Colette dancing. However, I was never really a big fan of most of the fancy costumes in ToS. Add to that my laziness and the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, and there was no way I could get that done on time. So instead, I decided to do a quick marker picture of an FFT dancer bellydancing, and that's what you have before you now.

The hardest part was trying to make her hips moving without making them look massive. Unfortunately, one of her hips is covered by her cloth and arm... ^^;;;; Her left hand is pretty bleh, but I'm really happy with how her right one came out.

As usual, the marker coloring wasn't too smooth, and I couldn't really color over the areas that I used the white gel pen for inking corrections, but since this picture was going quickly, I had plenty of time to airbrush better color over rough areas and touch up mistakes and stuff. Yay!

Done with Micron pens, Prismacolor markers, white gel pen, and Photoshop 5.0.

Well, I think this came out VERY good! Besides your excellent use of colors, as always, I'm impressed by her anatomy. You're getting better at drawing non-SD people. :) Perhaps you should practice your anatomy with some nudes. ;)

Aw, but you know I don't really draw nudes... ^^;;;

Thanks... ^-^
