Feminist (WRS) Ideas warming up to me + Etc
24 Apr 2024, 08:24 PM

I know I made a journal about questioning the patriarchal society I live under, and I want to be a women's Rights Supporter and stuff too. I'm honestly thinking of making my own ideologies in the future that are completely different from ones on Earth, since Humans are already pretty boring imho. Yeah, I'll still be pretty neutral on some stuff happening in the world, and I'll do that with social commentary art, and I sketched a drawing idea for "gender isolation as well" so I hope you all look forward into seeing that one day.

Thanks for reading, I'll only talk about social commentary stuff on my minds alt here and there, but rarely.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing men that Patriarchy isn't an equal-opportunity oppressor. HAV - Wonder Woman

One of the weirdest episodes of cognitive dissonance I've ever seen was a gay Muslim with the dA handle "dontneedfeminism": she was aligned with all the core feminist principles (bodily, social and spiritual autonomy; general pacifism; contempt for Hamas and the Wahhabis), yet was totally allergic to the moniker itself. She was otherwise erudite in good-faith discussions, and actual misogynists that tried to leverage her as their "ally" were BTFO'd, yet bafflingly she discarded the entirety of feminist discourse in favour of harping on the cartoon caricature as it's painted by the reactionaries, apparently due to bad experiences with antitheist factions. (For God's sake, she made a pro-Gamergate stamp. HAV - Lady of Shalott 2)

Humans are already pretty boring imho.

BROKE: Writing fantasy/scifi escapism because the real world's too crazy.
WOKE: Writing fantasy/scifi escapism because the real world's not crazy enough. XD

@Thorvald: I used to be a gamergate person too, and I moved on from that too, thank Lunaria. I want to make hyper-escapist(?) type social commentary art in the future too.

@N0-11: I never bought into Gamergate in general, but I'm embarrassed to admit I took Gjoni's post at face value and for a couple of years purported it to be a personal spat blown up into something bigger by the Chan Cult, despite the story quickly falling apart the moment you studied the actual evidence. Leave it to Gamers™ to ignore all the genuine failures of games "journalism" in favour of invented bogey(wo)men—I'd say imagine if we could focus that rage on [checks notes] literally anything that matters, but then, it was never about the (sl)activism, it was about joining a mob to vent the quiet part out loud. I'm still astounded that this op-ed, published the year before the lid blew off, never got swept up in the storm.

Rather ironically, the chief enabler of IOT's tankie nomenklatura once confessed to me Gamergate had nearly pushed him into the emergent Alt-Right, and re-reading the sort of satire he'd make of feminism around that time, the threads are definitely visible. Sadly while he veered in the opposite direction ideologically, that gatekeeping instinct was never expunged.
