I'm no Confucius but when I was volunteering at a new school's library waiting for an actual job to drop one of the teachers there loved to wax poetically about philosophy, one (well the only...) of the sermons that stuck to me to this day was "The Mandate of Heaven" which dictated that rulers had to be selected by the gods and not men. What this meant in essence was that in a time of chaos, these "chosen" would be people who would take initiative and fix the problems, proving themselves to the gods worthy to rule over their fellow mortals, their beings now tempered by their challenges and life experiences.

Of course these rulers would have chidren, these spoiled little shitlings would inherit the throne and needless to say, human nature would kick in full gear and instead of leading, they would become pissy little tyrants.

Now, you might wave it all away and say "Rabbit, if it's human nature why are you so pissy about it? Why is your brainlet arse complaining about something that's just natural and can't be changed" and you are completely correct but just like Comrade President over at Glorious Mother Russia, I have yet to master this whole "forgive and forget" thing so you'll have to excuse me when I lose my shit when clowns that will never amount to nothing come up to me and prove that, indeed, they deserve absulotely nothing. The difference here being I'm not talking about royalty or the son of a politician, I'm talking about certain individuals that think just because they have that little crown icon next to their name on a discord server, they are now King Shit of Fuck Mountain and have any authority over us mere mortals.

You see, back then, the prince could FORCE you to obey because unfortunately, he had the full might of the royal army on his side, obey or be hanged, drawn and quartered. You, however, you little nincompoop, have no authority, it's in your head, you mental patient, people will not obey you just because back in 2015, your parents weren't present because of course, raising your spoiled ass wasn't cheap, so while mommy and daddy were at work, you were being raised by tumblr who whispered sweet little nothings into your ears and convinced you that, just like the Goddess Blue Heart of Commodore Herself, Chris Weston Chandler, you have the power of Sonichu on your side and were the REAL PLAYER 1! Everyone else are just NPCs for you to interact with.

Now, what originated this hilarious, out of character and disjointed rant from me? Well...

A few months ago, somewhere in the universe, under the trillions and trillions of celestial bodies, each one more ancient and greater than all of humanity combined, insignificant little me got approached by someone, let's call them "Piss Panties", God knows I'm starting to develop an aversion to anyone with a Panties and Stockings avatar, approached and kindly asked why I left their server. Now, this was a positive interaction, while I admittedely was catching some bad vibes from the server but instead of trying to subvert it to my own imagine, I just left. A short back and forth, I ablidged and agreeded to come back. I'll not repeat the same mistake :|

Fast foward to now, indeed, people there somehow started to notice my silly buns and I started to be followed by a very sus individual and out fear I would would start be requested to draw imp tits and spider porn flicks, I, again, decided to leave. I made a second mistake when I chose to be cordial and contact PP, hoping to explain the situation this time, thank for their time and wish them good luck.

I was met the classical 2015's era: "Excuse me? I have reitereded several times not to contact me contact me on discord, a platform that was created specifically for communication. What made you think you would be granted an audience with me, peasant? I'll let you know I'm a moderately big artist on DeviantArt, I'm and extremely big deal and I have no time for insignificant little being such as yourself".

I should had let it go, but again, like Uncle Vlad if peace and serenity was my strong suit, my hair wouldn't had fallen off by the tender age of 25 :\ I ended up running into one of this individual's extremely wise and important opinions on twatter out of all places, how having and a take was now considered "unprofessional" (lemme know when drawing your discount Helluva Boss ocs pays the bills without mommy and daddy's assistance...) and I couldn't help but embrace the twatter spirt and invite myself in, letting PP know how ironic it was that someone who valued opinions so much would just dismiss me based on an imaginary authority they didn't have and later unleashing my power level, letting this person know little authority they really had over my by leaving a bunch of colorful insults on their comments, letting them know they were an arrogant "female genitalia", that they should consume feces, die of an heat stroke and finally implying this person prostitute themselves not for money but for pleasure.

Now, of course a sliver of authority is required to keep the peace in communities. I can't fault people like Thorvaldo, Bad Karma or Sheeva for giving me a slap on the wrist over a violent drawing or telling me to go easy on the cuss words. They are doing their best to keep the site aflot and from what I've seen, they are very understanding people who are willing to explain to me WHAT I DID WRONG AND HOW TO AVOID REPEATING IT IN THE FUTURE...

And while I'm sure we're all flawed humans here, I also believe that this is the right way to go about it. To lead by example and rationality, not by simply saying "oh it annoys me because it just does, ok. Stop asking questions you filthy subhu... I mean bigot! Don't you know we all have pet peeves?" and then come at me with this smug uwu tumblr bullshit because Control by Halsey was the only form of positive reinforcement that you got on your sad little life.

If anything, I think I own Camazotz a big apology Poor lad didn't do anything to me and I still acted like a paranoid pen0rhead to him x-x I leat my paranoid get the best of me way too often, sorry fam. I don't actually know what standard of decorum is intended for the forums, but my rule of thumb is anything public-facing should keep clean: a ratings scheme is only as strong as it's enforced, and the less the lines are blurred, the less risk of bona fide M-material bleeding out. Nobody wants to be a DeviantArt.

A close colleague is embroiled in cliquish BS that has disrupted an entire network of volunteer organizations, proving that prima donna complexes don't slough off in old age (and how one rotten apple can and does spoil the barrel). :/ I don't know if I ever gave you the full brief of my exit from the IOT gaming group, but suffice to say I know how it feels to get knifed in the back; there's a perennial joke about which are worse mods, Discordants or Redditors—well, you should've seen our Chatango server. Between that, B*zzly, and Glaswegian Edgelord, self-serving complacency has become my bête noire and something I hope to expunge utterly from my own leadership. As to the 'Mandate of Heaven', AKA Klingon Promotion with Extra Steps, an e-friend was on a university trip this summer touring Great War battlefields, and while the whole travelogue reads like something from a published magazine, the penultimate chapter in particular is one of the most profound meditations on the Great Man folly I've ever read. If you're in need of existential commiseration, I can't recommend it enough.

I’m a mod for some online communities, (mostly two obscure places tbh) and human nature can seriously suck so much sometimes, I too try not to get too mad at stuff, and imo, sometimes mods or internet janitors can get way too confident in their jobs and get power hungry (look at Reddit for christ’s sake) and yeah.
